This dark blue wool jacket
comes with all but one of its original gilt Waterbury Button Company
buttons. The uniform has a black
interior lining. There are holes in each
of the upper lapels of the collar for Eagle Globe and Anchor devices which are
not present. In addition, each of the
four collar securing loops and clips tightly attached and in working
order. The coat is marked in the left
shoulder but I just can't make it out (picture attached). There are no other markings, names or tags in
the coat that I can see. The jacket does
have early multi-piece construction Platoon Sergeant chevrons and service
stripes machine stitched to each sleeve.
The jacket
measures pit to pit - 19 inches (38 inches total), waist - 19 inches (38 inches
total), and shoulder to cuff - 27 inches.
The uniform
is in very good condition showing minimal age.
I don't see any moth nips or wear to the outside wool of the
jacket. There is just a touch of wear to
the interior lining in the shoulder where a couple of stitches have come
undone. It could stand to be
pressed. As I mentioned above, one of
the large gilt front buttons is missing.
Please be sure to check out the large photos I have posted and judge
condition for yourself.
