The Petri Racer is a 1960s Japanese fixed-lens 35mm rangefinder from Petri’s later compact rangefinder line. It is known for its Green-O-Matic viewfinder, coupled CdS meter system, and sporty body design, and this example is fitted with a Petri 45mm f2.8 Color Corrected lens.

- Focus adjustment works properly. The rangefinder patch is faint but still usable, and I am not seeing obvious horizontal or vertical misalignment.
- Aperture ring functions, and the aperture blades move correctly. There is some oil present on the blades, but it did not prevent movement.
- ASA ring adjusts properly from 25 to 800. The shutter speed ring also moves as it should.
- All shutter speeds fire. There is a distinct difference between speeds, but 1 second can sometimes hang up. The faster speeds appear more reliable. Shutter speed accuracy has not been tested.
- The self-timer does not function correctly and gets hung up.
- The meter is responsive to light as well as aperture and shutter speed adjustments, but meter accuracy has not been tested.
- Film advance, shutter release, and film rewind are all functioning.
- Viewfinder is clear overall with some internal dust. Lens optics show dust but I am not seeing obvious fungus or haze.
- Exterior condition is overall very good for age, with light wear mainly visible on the base.
- Not tested: film test, meter accuracy, shutter accuracy, flash sync, cable release operation, and film chamber/light seal condition.
