• Colorful old Yoruba diviner's panel depicts human faces, animals, reptiles and a fish
  • Elaborately beaded on the front with seed and glass beads and trimmed around the edges with cowrie shells
  • Backing appears to be cotton; hand whipstitched to front
  • Colorful beaded loop for hanging at the top
  • Panel measures about 41-1/4" in length; with the loop, it is about 42-3/4". The width varies from around 4-1/2" to 4-3/4"
  • Weighs 1 lb. 4 ozs.
  • Very good condition for age. The beading is completely intact. Some of the cowrie shells are chipped or broken and there are a few loose threads. Backing fabric does show soiling.
  • Because of its vibrant colors, this is a particularly beautiful example of this African art form!
