Released as a special collaboration inspired by Antarctic research, this model was developed from a joint research project between Casio Computer Co., Ltd. and Assistant Professor Shinpei Goto of Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology.
In January 2018, it was used as a navigation device for a small remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) during the 59th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition, making this a highly significant and story-rich model.
