This rare Tsuba was carefully kept in a wooden box for many years by an elderly collector couple in Fukuoka, Japan. It is in excellent condition, reflecting the love and care they provided.
The Tsuba is signed by the master artist, Myochin Ki Munenaga (明珍紀宗長).
Myochin is a prestigious family of armor smiths that everyone in the Japanese Tsuba collector community knows. They are a lineage of master craftsmen who have created armor for generations of Emperors and Shoguns. This Tsuba allows you to feel the wonderful texture and the substantial weight of the iron. Tsubas signed with the Myochin name are traded at high prices even within Japan. I highly recommend that collectors take this opportunity to acquire one.
