1973 Press Photo Progress on expansion program at New Orleans Int'l Airport

An east addition to the airport is only part of a $30 million expansion program under way there, but it is the largest part-costing about $20 million-and is expected to completed by 1975. A nearly $30 million expansion program at New Orleans International Airport is progressing rapidly, and the largest part of the project- an east side addition to the terminal-is now 53 per cent compete, Aviation Director Paul Stoulig said. The east pier project, which was started in 1972, should be completed at the end of 1974, he reported. It includes a lengthening of the existing terminal and the building of an entirely new subterminal.Photo measures 10.25 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 07-05-1973.
