- The steering wheel (usually called Bakelite) is new NOS from March 23, 1970, no signs of wear or storage
- The horn ring is also new from 1970
- The hub pad is used and in very good condition. A very light pressure mark, colored in a color that perfectly matches the steering wheel. The star is flawless.
- The horn contact is also used, in very good condition.

The quality levels:
Restored steering wheel: Old plastic, mostly cracked, has been refurbished. After a good job, a nice steering wheel.

Disadvantage: The plastic shrinks further when exposed to sunlight, causing cracks

Reproduction: Reproductions mostly produced in the Far East.
Advantage: low price, new plastic that won't crack.
Disadvantage: Deviations in shape and color, sometimes no operating license.
NOS steering wheels: old stock items from Mercedes Benz.
Advantage: Old new product, so no deviations from the original steering wheel.

Disadvantage: High purchase price because it is very rare.
