Vintage lodge jewel from the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB).

The medal features the buffalo head emblem with the Latin motto:

“Nemo Mortalium Omnibus Horis Sapit”
(No man is wise at all times).

The jewel is suspended from a ribbon bar with engraved dates including:

22 December 1938

The reverse of the medal is engraved:

These jewels were typically presented to lodge members when they were installed into office or honoured for service within the order.

A nice piece of pre-war and post-war fraternal history.
