Appearance

  1. A shakudō tsuba depicting a variety of landscape elements, including trees, rivers, bridges, temples, shrines, torii gates, and waterwheels.
  2. It is a typical Kagami-shi tsuba. Kagami-shi refers to artisans who have historically crafted mirrors using metal, and this tsuba is made using their traditional manufacturing techniques.
  3. This tsuba is made using a three-layer construction, in which a beautifully designed thin sheet of shakudō is applied to a copper base.
    Tsuba made by mirror makers (kagami-shi) are often crafted with the front and back appearing identical.
