Sooner or later - Genealogists are going to realize that their family kinfolks are laying on some dealer's dusty shelves. If I can contribute to finding one little name or photo of that long lost ancestor you have been waiting to find, - its worth all the time I spend.

ABE LINCOLN’S FRIEND –

SCULPTRESS VINNIE REAM

FACTUAL REPRESENTATION

OF OUR WESTERN TREASURES

VINNIE BEGGED CONGRESSMAN ROLLINS

TO GET THE PRESIDENT TO POSE FOR HER

HE REFUSED BUT WHEN HE LEARNED SHE

WAS POOR AND OBSCURE, HE CONSENTED

Folks, here’s the real story of a young girl who was born in an Indian Village in Wisconsin Territory where her father was a frontier surveyor. After living in various states her father moved his family to Washington, D. C. at the beginning of the Civil War. It was there Vinnie Ream studied to be a sculptress and was granted sittings five months before Lincoln’s death. Afterwards, she won over 20 sculptors the contract for a full-length statue of him and worked in a studio in the basement of the Capitol. The impeachment of Andrew Johnson came up during this time and charges were brought against Vinnie Ream for influencing Senator Ross to cast his vote for President Johnson. She was charged with being a part of a conspiracy against the Radical Republicans and for a time they closed her studio in the Capitol and it seemed the statue was doomed.

This is an amazing story of the girl Lincoln befriended.

OLD ABE LINCOLN MEMORABILIA

IS RAPIDLY DISAPPEARING

Please read this. There were many western stories published – the common ones about Cowboys and Indians are listed on Ebay every day but the little known ones like this rare and hard to find story about a obscure event in the post civil war era is a particularly hard to come by issue and includes one of the better, untold and rarer stories published.

It’s one of the best.

Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the Genealogy of our western pioneers. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf. Because Old Civil War History and Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell.

This complete index will be bound and included in this offering at no additional cost.

Humbly, I am trying to keep our history alive.

I hope you appreciate the effort.

OLD ABE LINCOLN MEMORABILIA

IS RAPIDLY DISAPPEARING

While others clip ads from magazines, I save history. It’s a shame that our past is being lost. It’s as simple as that.

What a story, Rare Story!!! Great Pictures. You will love it as it was published in this old complete western magazine of many years ago. The issue is in good condition, the cover is in vibrant color.

As clearly stated in my description, this is featured story in a rarely found and seldom read unusual and complete western magazine. I don't give out name of publication or date because I have caught competitors copying my index and work and trying to sell it as theirs. I hope you understand.
