To assess the condition of things I use a scale :
NEW-MINT-EXCELLENT (+ -)-GOOD WORKING-AS IS.
AIWA JS145 - stereo radio cassette recorder with stereo recording.
The cosmetic condition is evident in the detailed photos.
I'd say it's in good condition; there's even the characteristic smell of new electronics.
Anyone, who owned these things in the 90s, will understand what I'm talking about.
Technically, the unit is in perfect working order.
The player has never been disassembled for any purpose.
I had to do this to replace the rubber belt, which had lost its elasticity and the cassette section wasn't working.
I installed the new belt from the kit.
I've included a video with a brief demonstration of the player in operation.
The recording and playback quality is quite acceptable, although unusual for today's digital sources, which transmit the original signal without loss.
The radio also works.
For recording from the microphone, I used regular headphones.
