Lot of vintage laboratory glassware consisting of several thick-walled glass test tubes / culture tubes of varying sizes.

One tube retains a partial Crest brand stamp (USA) indicating American laboratory manufacture. These tubes were commonly used in medical laboratories, research environments, or teaching collections for culturing, specimen holding, and chemical testing.

The glass is noticeably thicker than modern disposable lab tubes and shows the construction typical of mid-20th century laboratory glassware designed for repeated sterilization and reuse.

Collection Provenance

This item is part of The Dr. Max Goltman Medical Teaching Collection – Memphis Pink Palace Museum Archive, a historic archive of medical instruments, laboratory equipment, and educational materials.

Many items in this collection were originally associated with materials preserved or displayed by the Pink Palace Museum in Memphis, Tennessee, including exhibits related to “Medicine in Memphis 1830–1930.”

The archive also includes materials connected with the work and collected historical artifacts of Dr. Max Goltman, a Memphis physician whose documents and instruments were preserved as part of educational medical displays.

We are currently cataloging and releasing pieces from this historic collection as they are researched and documented. Additional surgical instruments, laboratory equipment, anatomical materials, and medical artifacts from the archive will be listed.
