This tool is specifically designed to safely remove the fuel cap gasket insert from Coleman/ AGM/ Akron 3-piece fuel caps.  It works on small, large, and winged fuel caps.  To use, simply loosen the wing nuts and insert the fuel cap between the two plates. Tighten down the wing nuts and use a screwdriver to remove the screw attached to the insert.  Once complete, loosen the wing nuts and remove the fuel cap and insert.  

The tool is designed to be attached to a vice.  Also, the two screws allow you to attach the inserts if you want to take a torch and burn out the old gaskets.  

When you assemble the tool, the nut should be between the two plates.
