This goes on top of your non quick release head to make it one. It comes with one plate for it. The box says it is just the plate but both pieces were in the box with 3/8 and 1/4-20 screws for your camera. The is also a screw for the top of the tripod head for using this with with 3/8 or 1/4-20. It looks unused. The base is 3x1.75. The plate is about 1.75 square.
