Vintage Sadler Tea Coffee Sugar Storage Jars Character Figures Made in England

A charming set of three vintage Sadler ceramic storage jars made in England. These character jars are designed for tea, coffee and sugar and show detailed seated figures with traditional costume styling.

Each jar features raised lettering on the front and detailed moulded figures sitting on sacks or bases labelled Tea, Coffee or Sugar. The designs have a warm brown glaze typical of Sadler pottery, with the tea jar finished in a contrasting olive green glaze.

The bases are stamped Sadler Made in England with registered design numbers. Two jars show registered design numbers including 972139 and 971337. One base reads Registered Design Applied For. These marks date the pieces to the mid-20th century when Sadler produced many novelty kitchen storage jars.

Sadler pottery was founded in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent in the late 19th century. The company became well known for novelty teapots and character kitchenware. Their figural storage jars remain popular with collectors of British ceramics.

These jars work well as kitchen storage or as decorative vintage display pieces.
