Rare 1904 edition of The Golden Book of Marcus Aurelius, published by the renowned J.M. Dent & Co. in London.
This is a beautiful example of early 20th-century book design, featuring the iconic Art Nouveau / Arts and Crafts style border on the title page in striking red and black ink. It is a "pocket" or miniature edition, perfect for collectors of classic philosophy or antique fine press books.
The text block is firm. Pages show light natural ageing but the red and black printing remains sharp and vibrant.
There is some "red rot" flaking to the leather surface and wear to the spine ends. Please see photos for a clear view of the exterior condition.
