What is a Mid Bottom Bracket?

Mid bottom brackets are the current standard for modern freestyle BMX frames. "Mid" refers to the shell inner diameter of 41.275mm (1-5/8 inches). This is the most common BB type on contemporary BMX bikes and offers an excellent balance of strength, weight, and bearing durability.

Important: Mid BB (41.275mm) is different from BB86 (41mm) - they are NOT interchangeable despite the similar diameter. Most modern BMX freestyle frames use Mid BB.
