Description: A limited edition of a series of pure silk woven pictures produced by Cash's of Coventry in the style of a Stevengraph woven by Thomas Stevens. The Present Time is a facsimile of the Stevengraph design and made in a limited edition of 2.000 which were numbered (this one is No 206). This example is in it's original box with tissue wrapping and certificate of authenticity (images 5 & 6). The Cash's Stevengraph series was made in the same way as the Thomas Stevens version except that the design was scanned from the original (avoiding the painstaking preparation used in the late 1800s) and woven on a much more modern jacquard loom. This example has the original price tag (£38.75 - quite expensive back in the day)
