A silk woven picture "Paddler's Pool" made by the Brocklehurst Whiston Company in Macclesfield, England in 1956. The 'Pool' was an old reservoir which supplied water to power the water-mill used in weaving mills - and evidently a good place to skate in the winter! This picture has been remounted in a more modern mount but retains the mount type of the original with the blue edge. There is nothing of interest on the back.
The silk was woven on a jacquard loom in the same manner as a Stevengraph was made 80 years earlier.
Size: The weaving is 6 x 3 inches. The card frame is 9.5 x 7.5 inches.
Condition: The silk is in excellent condition with very bright colour.
Postage: UK Free Postage (large letter second class). Worldwide postage (large letter economy) is £8.00 (US $11.00 approx). The picture will be packed with a cellophane folder and in a board backed envelope. We do offer combined postage - details on request.
Please feel free to ask any questions - we love questions!
