Description: Original 1890s Stevengraph "Jetzt" (Translation- Now - The Present Time - the original english title) but the English version is 'The Good Old Days' which on other German stevengraps is written 'Die Gute, alte Zeit' which suggests this is an error on the mount. The Stevengraph depicting the London to York Mail Coach in a winter scene . Presented in it's original German mount. It is the third of three German mounted scenes listed this week - all of which are rarely seen in this form. The 5th image 'Old Mail Coach' (not included in the sale but a copy available on request) is a description of how the weaving was made.

Stevens was known to export loose silks to European publishers who would use their own mounts with the titles, in this case, in German. The mount size was a little larger than the English equivalent measuring 9 x 5 inches. The mounts were also thicker and more sturdy than their English equivalents.

Condition:  The colours are well preserved and bright. The mount is clean. There is nothing of interest on the back.

Shipping: Free UK postage (second class large letter) Europe and Rest of the World £8.00 (all large letter rates). We are happy to combine postage (do look at the other Stevengraphs and other weavings on offer).
