The Nikon Teleconverter TC-200 is a precision supplementary optical unit which mounts between the camera body and the lens to provide for a doubling of the lens’ effective focal length and, thus, yield an image scale (or magnification) is twice that of the basic lens used alone. 

In addition to providing the conveniences of fully automatic diaphragm coupling and Automatic Maximum Aperture Indexing (AI) with lenses and cameras so equipped, Nikon teleconverters offer an advanced, multi-element lens construction that ensures the highest optical performance with virtually no deterioration of the image quality of the basic lens in use. 

As an added feature: NIC (Nikon Integrated Coating) is supplied to selected lens elements to provide for effective control of flare and ghost, with improved resolution when working with colour film. The Nikon TC-200 provides optimum performance with Lenses having a non-recessed rear element; in other words, primarily for lenses having a focal length of 200mm or less.
