The updated Epiphone Firebird from the Inspired by Gibson collection faithfully recreates the iconic reverse-body and reverse-headstock design introduced with the original 1963 Gibson Firebird.

Originally designed by renowned automotive designer Ray Dietrich, the Firebird became Gibson’s first neck-through-body model and remains one of the most distinctive electric guitars ever made.

Construction & Design

This Epiphone Firebird features a traditional 9-ply Mahogany/Walnut neck-through-body construction, delivering:

• Rich, warm tone

• Excellent sustain

• Strong resonance

With the neck-through design, the tuners, pickups, bridge, and tailpiece are mounted along the same continuous wood core, enhancing tonal transfer and sustain.

The neck features a SlimTaper C profile, bound rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and pearloid trapezoid inlays—combining vintage aesthetics with comfortable playability.

The pickguard features the iconic red hot-stamped Firebird logo.

Pickups & Electronics

Equipped with ProBucker FB720 Firebird pickups with Alnico 2 magnets, designed to replicate the original 1960s Firebird pickup specifications.

Unlike mini humbuckers, Firebird pickups feature:

• Dual blade magnets inside the coils

• Steel reflector plate

• No adjustable pole pieces

This unique construction delivers a clear, noise-free humbucking tone with strong articulation and character.

Wired with high-quality CTS potentiometers for accurate response and tonal control.
