Up for sale is a historic piece of boxing memorabilia: the 1948 Leaf Ceferino Garcia #80 rookie card. This card comes from the highly sought-after Leaf "Knock-Out" Bubble Gum series, featuring the vibrant colors and coarse gray cardstock characteristic of the 1948 first printing.
Ceferino Garcia is a true icon of the ring. Born in the Philippines, he holds the distinction of being the only Filipino boxer to capture a World Middleweight Championship. He is legendary for the "Bolo Punch," a powerful punch he invented and named after the bolo knife used in the sugar cane fields of his youth. Garcia’s career spanned over 160 fights, and he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1977.
This card is an essential piece for any vintage boxing or sports card collector. Please see photos for condition details; the card shows authentic vintage wear including corner softening and surface toning consistent with its age.
