Authentic hand-carved Baule portrait mask originating from Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa. Baule carving traditions are widely recognized for their refined facial symmetry, calm expression, and stylized representation of idealized beauty associated with ceremonial and cultural performances.

This example displays classic Baule characteristics including elongated facial proportions, carefully carved coiffure, and balanced facial detailing. The deep reddish-brown surface with contrasting pigment accents shows natural aging and tonal variation developed over time, contributing to its authentic ethnographic presence.

The reverse reveals traditional hollowed carving techniques confirming hand craftsmanship. Surface patina, minor abrasions, and pigment wear are consistent with age and handling, enhancing the collectible character valued by collectors of African tribal art. Returns
