Allan Moffat’s 1984 Bathurst Mazda RX-7 represents one of the most unique and historic entries of the Group C touring car era. Fielded as part of Mazda’s factory-backed racing program, the rotary-powered RX-7 was driven to third place by Australian touring car legend Allan Moffat alongside Formula One and Le Mans star Jacky Ickx in the 1984 James Hardie 1000 at Mount Panorama. Powered by Mazda’s high-revving 13B rotary engine and finished in its striking factory race livery, the car stands as an iconic example of Mazda’s innovative engineering and international driver lineup during the final years of Group C competition.
