Original WORLD WAR ONE U.S. SERVICE IN FRANCE 1917-1918 BRONZE TABLE MEDAL. This table medal was issued to commemorate the American Expeditionary Forces that served in France during the Great War. This medal was designed by Marcel Prosper Lordonnois in 1919 and is so signed on the front side. The obverse features a charging Doughboy with trenches in the background. The reverse features a French map identifying the major campaigns in which the AEF participated. The rim of the medal is marked "Bronze". Measures about 2.5 inches. Weighs 2.8 ounces. In overall very good condition showing patina and minor spots of age oxidation.
