Italian brand Technomodel is releasing a new 1/43 scale model of the Ferrari 801.
The 801 was introduced by Lancia in 1954-1955, and after Ascari's death in the 1955 accident, it was transferred from Lancia to Ferrari, where it was improved and became Ferrari's mainstay in 1956. Based on the revolutionary Lancia-Ferrari D50, which shared the championship with Fangio, the 1957 model fought a fierce battle with the then-rising Maserati 250F.
This time we have four specifications available, including the Mike Hawthorn car that came in second place at the German GP.
The model faithfully reproduces the details of the actual car, including the delicate wire wheels and the simple, bullet-shaped proportions achieved by removing the side pontoons from the D50.
