Offered here is a naturally formed Cretaceous marine fossil collected in the rolling banks of Bald Knob in Florence, Texas, Williamson County.

This limestone concretion contains the internal mold of a rudist bivalve — an ancient reef-building clam that lived approximately 90–100 million years ago when Texas was covered by a warm shallow sea.

The fossil cavity is naturally lined with sparkling druzy calcite crystals, creating a beautiful contrast between rough limestone exterior and crystalline interior.
