Shohei Ohtani, nicknamed "Shotime", is a Japanese Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher and designated hitter for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He previously played for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters in Nippon Professional Baseball and the Los Angeles Angels in MLB. Ohtani attracted interest from MLB teams after high school in Iwate, Japan, but chose the Nippon-Ham Fighters because they allowed him to play both sides of the ball.
