This 1945 King George VI Government of Ceylon 10 Rupees dated June 24^th, 1945.  The note has a Blue on lilac and olive multicolor underprint. The front of the note has a portrait of His Majesty King George VI facing forward, within a panel on left. Similar panel for the watermark shows a Lion standing on hind legs facing left with bent whip in right paw on the right. The ‘GOVERNMENT OF CEYLON’ at upper center above. The value TEN RUPEES in two lines in English at center. The serial numbers (J27104795) are on the top right and left bottom in red with the ‘10’ showing slanted on the top two corners of the note. The back of the note is blue on an olive and orange tint multicolor underprint and centered on top “THE GOVERNMENT OF CEYLON” in an arc, along with the pictorial at center with caption TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH with few pilgrims in foreground and foliage in background. The certification of this banknote is uncertified, and it is a great piece of history from Ceylon (now known as Sri Lanka). This banknote is a must-have for any collector of world paper money.
