Welcome to my auction - Up for your consideration is this antique Freemason/Masonic/Knights Templar ceremonial sword. The sword was made by the MC Lilley Co. with the mark dating between 1882 and 1925. The ornately decorated sword and scabbard features Christian, templar, or Masonic symbolism throughout with cross-crowned guards, and specialized engravings representing a blend of religious devotion and knightly chivalry. The blade and leather case have the Masonic members name on it, William E Czarnitski with the case also having Columbia South Carolina where he was a member. The sword is highlighted with gold gilt and a red enamel cross which carries over to the scabbard. The scabbard appears to have been chrome plated. The leather case is stamped with a classic Art Nouveau design.
