A lovely early Georgian silver mote spoon, with nice quality hand pierced detail of a more unusual pattern of scrolled foliate shapes rather than the common scroll and crosslets type arrangement. It has a small applied point to the end of the stem handle for clearing out clogged teapot strainers.
Lion passant mark to the handle and maker's initials for Jeremiah Lee, c.1728-1732. The initials RA are also engraved to the bottom of the heel, which was likely the original owner's initials although rather crudely executed.
It measures 13.5cm (5 5/16") long and 2.2cm (7/8") wide across the bowl.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair. Minor handling wear to the bowl, some fine tiny grooves and scratches scattered up the sides of the stem.
