This is a 12 foot Monster THX Certified subwoofer cable with gold ends.  This was an upper-end cable that's guaranteed to work as it should.  One end started to fray so a clear piece of tape was placed around it.  Strictly cosmetic and hard to noticed, but I try to mention everything.
