This 1963 one-hit record for Jackie Ward was sped up in the studio to make her voice higher, and with some gull and surf sounds thrown in millions bought it.  Ward asked that the artist on the record be "Robin Ward," her baby daughter's name, since the sped up demo made her sound like she was much younger.

The sleeve as part of this here record is NOT the original - full disclosure - the sleeve for this 45 is a Decca and the song was recorded on Dot.

This is a used 45 that was not played much.  The cleaning protocol for 45s is rather involved and I did none whatsoever, but there no scratches or other imperfections.

With her very pleasant, unaccelerated voice Ward went on to do all kinds of singing, on records, television shows, and movies.

Check out her backup "la la la" contribution to Pat Boone's "Speedy Gonzales" (recorded a year earlier).  Elton John appreciated her backup on that recording and it inspired the "hook" in his "Crocodile Rock."
