Circa 19THC. A beautiful gown with masses of whitework, ribbon insertions and such a ethereal lawn.. It is almost entirely covered at the front with whitework insertions, ribbon insertions and Valencienne lace. The lawn is translucent and gossamer in texture.... it is always wonderful to find such a lovely ornate lawn christening gown. There is tiny smocking on this gown on the bodice and along the ruffled wings. In good strong condition, there is one small area on edge of gown with damage, there are two ties at the side that have some damage..one could easily remove if desired, they were meant to tie at the back in a bow, these are easily removed if one wishes. A great dress for baby or for dolls. Measuring approx. 39".. approx 8-9" shoulder to shoulder, 84" around at the bottom of the gown.
