DESCRIPTION: 

This is an amazing polished & etched blackware pottery jar dated 8-99 by Robert Naranjo of Santa Clara Pueblo. It is titled "Earth Energy Connected" on the bottom and features 4 different pictorial sections around the jar. Two sections are filled with a vast array of different animals - a coyote, beaver, rabbit, snake, dragonfly, duck, eagle, mountain lion, buffalo, fish, frog, and dolphin in one section. The other animal section has a bear, deer, wolf, otter, butterfly, tortoise, mouse, lizard and bobcat. The animal sections are separated by a large tree surrounded by flowers on one side, and opposite that a rainbow with raining clouds at the bottom of each side of the rainbow, which encircles some corn plants, a sun and stars. This jar is a wondrous and fascinating creation.

The jar measures 4 3/4" in diameter and 2 1/4" tall.  Signed on the bottom: 'Robert Naranjo' with 2 stars, 'SCP' (Santa Clara Pueblo), dated '8-99', titled "Earth Energy Connected", and marked with an animal paw print and the letters NCC (see last picture).
