25 SALTIGA Optional Spool [25 SALTIGA Spool]! This optional spool [25 SALTIGA DRD 14000 Spool (Compatible with 25 SALTIGA 8000-14000)] now features the DRD drag mechanism previously only available on larger 25 SALTIGA reels on the mid-size 14000 spool. Eight metal rollers thoroughly suppress the loss of drag force due to frictional heat. This dramatically improves smooth start-up performance. This allows you to confidently take on large fish like tuna yellowtail amberjack and amberjack. It also features the new LC-ABS SW mechanism. While the LC-ABS optimized spool ring shape ensures smooth line release the new LC-ABS SW mechanism features a two-stage tapered shape on the upper surface of the spool winding section toward the spool ring. This reduces friction with the line released from a deep diameter resulting in a smooth casting feel and further improving release performance in the latter half of the cast. In particular when using thicker lines which tend to have larger changes in spool diameter during the cast this contributes to an approximately 2% increase in casting distance (based on Daiwa's comparative testing). It supports anglers' desire for longer casting distances. By bringing a spare spool with you you can quickly respond to unexpected problems without wasting time allowing you to continue fishing without missing your rare opportunity.
