The product is an original WW1 mail postcard from a United States Army soldier stationed in Balesmes Sur Marne, Haute Marne, France.
This collectible item captures a piece of militaria history from the conflict. This particular area in France was close to the front lines and acted as a strategic zone for troop and medical related movements.
There were two key battles in this area, one in 1914 and one in 1918. This postcard also features a U.S. Army Post Office (APO) Military Postal Express Service (MPES) Stamp, which is significant because it was created in the year of 1918 making this
postcard one of the first to have the stamp.
