Antique Anatolian Konya Derbent Mini Rug | Approximately 100 Years Old | Wool
This unique piece is an antique Anatolian mini rug from Konya Derbent, approximately 100 years old. Originally woven as a pillow face, it has no backing and is now best described and used as a mini rug or decorative textile.
The rug is made of wool and has been exceptionally well preserved. It shows no visible damage or repairs and remains in outstanding condition for its age. The colors are deep, lively, and beautifully balanced, suggesting it was likely kept in a chest (sandık) rather than actively used.
The motifs are very primitive and expressive, reflecting early regional weaving traditions. While it can certainly be used decoratively, this piece truly stands out as a strong and authentic example of early Anatolian village weaving.
Size: approx. 21.3 x 39.8 inches (54 x 101 cm)
