A powerful piece of early American industrial history. This is an authentic early 20th-century miner’s outfit, consisting of a soft-shell canvas mining cap and a brass carbide (acetylene) lamp with a large sunburst reflector.
Era: Circa 1910–1930.
Details: The brass lamp is mounted to the original heavy-duty front bracket of the olive-drab canvas cap. Features a back adjustment strap with a metal buckle.
Condition: Authentic "attic-found" antique condition. The lamp has a beautiful aged brass patina with some light verdigris and minor dings. The canvas cap shows heavy "mine-worn" character, including dust, stains, and minor fraying, which confirms its historical use.
