Patrol Squadron 40 (VP-40), known as the "Fighting Marlins," is a U.S. Navy maritime patrol squadron based at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington, operating the P-8A Poseidon multi-mission aircraft. As part of Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing 10, they conduct anti-submarine warfare (ASW), intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and humanitarian response, frequently deploying globally to support fleet readiness.
