Lionel Messi created 3 assists for the first time during this 2010/2011 away match against Espanyol. Match took place on Dec. 18, 2010. Barcelona won match 1-5. 

One of Messi’s assists was indirect which included a rebound by Espanyol goalie. Even though this was Messi's first time technically completing 3 assists, not all were direct. (see transfermarkt image)
