Lovely sea worn pieces of unusual very thin small and tiny plywood Scottish driftwood which were beach combed on the East coast of Scotland from beaches in Dunbar in East Lothian so they were once in the North Sea. There are 185 bits of it weighing about 35 grams, are all 1 to 2 millimeters thick, mainly quite flat and the shortest piece is around 1.3 centimetres long whilst the longest is roughly 12.6 cm long. The two-pence piece and ruler are there to give you an idea of the size and the pictures are each approximately 30 x 22 cm in area (they show the driftwood alternative ways up on different coloured backgrounds and it in different lights). These pieces were probably parts of plywood crates in their former lives and have nicely well weathered patinas with black scorch marks, neutral and pink tones and there may be a few tiny splits here and there; I also trimmed and tidied them up. These are rare finds which makes them great components for ensemblage projects and/or art subjects and are quite easy to cut and glue so rather versatile for smaller works.. Ideal for using in decor art and craft projects - especially if your going for a beach, nautical, found, natural, reclaimed, recycled, ocean conservation or seaside theme.
