This is a used IRS transmission my understanding is that it came out of VW Bug that had a blown engine. And usually the thumb of rule is blown engine good transmission bad transmission good engine. But we know that's not always the case.
In no way am I trying to say that this is a good 100% running transmission I'm just giving something that's been used over the years with car guys.
I obtained this car and stripped it and dismantled it the people that I got it from told me that the car got parked because the engine had blown up they did not have the money to fix the engine so I got parked on the side of the house and sat there for about 7 years or so. They ended up having to move out of the house so they were getting rid of everything I obtained the vehicle and stripped it down so that is the backstory and history is all I know about the transmission it seems to move and spin but there is no 100% way to test any type of transmission unless you have some type of load pushing against it.
So all in all I would say with what was told to me I would take the chance myself and that is my own personal opinion and again I am not insinuating that this is a perfectly running transmission can only go by history of what is told to you and then make a decision.
Being that I've seen some of the rebuilt Transmissions going for 2200 and 2,500 I don't see why anybody wouldn't want to just take a chance.
