The fourth captain and second lieutenant of the Musashi now in his final battle! This model features a light gray repaint and includes etched parts! The Musashi was the second Yamato-class battleship and served as the flagship of the Combined Fleet. This model is based on the ship's appearance with the removal of its two secondary guns and the addition of enhanced anti-aircraft armament. Designed with a snap-fit ​​system that eliminates the need for adhesive this kit is a departure from previous models. All assembly is snap-in style. (Excluding bonus parts for experienced users) The color scheme is pre-colored and molded using pre-painted molding materials while the details and markings are reproduced with highly adaptable realistic stickers. This lowers the bar for ship modeling allowing you to enjoy a truly realistic finish with ease. Recreate the ship's final appearance during Operation Sho-Ichi-Go which is said to have been close to white. Unlike the standard model the main parts are made of special parts colored gray-white. The deck is said to have been painted black during the operation and this model features a dark gray molding color. The bridge rangefinder and turret are molded in gray-white to recreate the light gray color. The signal yard command post anti-aircraft hood and rear lookout sponsons are all meticulously recreated. A newly designed display stand with a revised shape is included. It is molded in black and consists of four parts. It can be flipped over during assembly and used as a parts storage container. Unlike the standard version the display stand comes with a striped/wooden deck pattern top and a mechanical surface engraving version. Etched parts are included to capture details difficult to replicate with injection molded parts. Two types of etched parts are included one of each.
