Original handmade concert flyer for Cheap Perfume – New York City’s pioneering all-female punk/pop band – performing at the iconic CBGB on Saturday, April 14 (likely 1979, during their peak years).

This is a genuine piece of late-1970s/early-1980s NYC punk history. Cheap Perfume formed in 1978 from CBGB waitresses inspired by the scene, becoming one of the first all-woman bands to regularly play CBGB and Max’s Kansas City. They shared stages with acts like the Dead Boys, Johnny Thunders, and the Ramones, embodying the raw DIY feminist spirit of early punk.

Design details:

• Classic photocopied DIY style on standard 11x8.5-inch paper

• Central black-and-white photo collage of the band inside a large hand-drawn shaded heart

• Handwritten copied text: “At CBGB,” “Cheap” added above “PERFUME,” provocative taglines like “Devastatingly feminine” and “Sensual… not too far from innocence”

• Crude drawings of electric guitars

• Handwritten fan-style note on the side

Condition: Authentic vintage wear – some tape, creases from folding/posting, and a small rip along the middle left edge. No reproductions known; this appears to be a one-of-a-kind or very small-run piece from the era.

A rare survivor from the original CBGB punk scene featuring an influential but under-documented trailblazing all-female act. Perfect for collectors of punk memorabilia, CBGB ephemera, or women’s music history.
