German Doll K & K Toy Co Bisque Shoulder Head Doll. This German Doll is Marked K & K 45 Made in Germany. She is about 20 inches tall not including her hat and has a Bisque Shoulder head. Her outfit is original and she come with extra home made outfits and also a crazy quilt blanket that was make for her and it does show age. Her bisque head is perfect and she has sleep eyes. The K & K stood for George Kolb and Fred Kolb. The K & K Toy Company was established in New York City as a subsidiary of Geo. Borgfeldt & Co. in 1915. They imported bisque doll heads from Germany and assembled them with their own cloth and composition bodies. Some of their bisque heads have been attributed to Alt, Beck, and Gottschalk. Her body is cloth and her hands are composition. Her lower composition legs do show peeling and cracks so I put long stocking on her to cover up the cracks.
