Strings from the James Brown Bootsy Collins Fred Thomas 1969 Fender Jazz Bass This set of strings were the strings on the historically significant James Brown Bootsy Collins and Fred Thomas 1969 Fender Jazz Bass . I replaced the these string with a new set of Rotosound Swings. I carefully removed the strings that were on the bass when I purchased it. Strings are old as hell (circa 1977). I also have the 1969 Jazz bass guitar listed on eBay for sale with brand new rotosound strings, just like Bootsy liked. Most bass players at the time were using flatwounds. Bootsy's signature sound was using the new rotosound strings for the bright punchy tone. Item pictured is the item you will receive. They are sitting on top of the James Brown, Bootsy and Fred Thomas bass.
