UNUSUAL 18TH CENTURY FRENCH
WOMENS FASHIONS DRESSER TRAY

Available for purchase is a unique dresser tray from the late 1700s or early 1800s. The top of the tray includes a portion of a plate from the 1783 edition of a French publication titled "Galerie des Modes et Costumes Français" (Gallery of French Fashions and Costumes). This publication was a series of etched and hand colored fashion and costume plates distributed in Paris from 1778 to 1787, during the reign of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. The particular etchings used in this tray illustrated various fashionable hairstyles and hats from different portions of France during 1783. The hand coloring has mostly faded in this example.

The tray measures about 6 7/8 long, 5 5/8" wide, and 5/8" tall. The fashion plate is protected by a piece of glass. The edge of the tray is covered with an embroidered bullion wire material and the bottom is covered with a piece of brown velvet. I purchased this tray at a recent estate sale that had many fine antiques. I believe it to be from the late 18th or early 19th century, based on the presence of the 1783 publication plate and the early wire embroidery style of the frame. It was likely made in France. Regardless, this tray is guaranteed to be an antique item. Please check my positive feedback and buy with confidence from a trusted seller.

Condition of this unique dresser tray is EXCELLENT. As mentioned earlier, the hand coloring has mostly faded from the etched images. The wire bullion border is in great shape and the glass is intact. Overall, this historical tray looks fantastic and would be a perfect accessory to display antique perfume bottles or other dresser items. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself. I'm confident you'll be very pleased with this purchase.

If you collect antique dresser items, particularly perfume bottle trays, don't miss your opportunity to purchase this offering. This unique tray is something you will never see again. My Buy It Now price of only $52 seems very reasonable for this 200- to 250-year-old historical artifact. So, buy this tray now before some else beats you to the deal!

For international purchases, the buyer is responsible for all customs fees. The declared value listed on the customs form will be the final selling price of the item. I will not list the item as a "gift" to avoid customs charges.
