Installation Instructions:

1. Identifying the leaking head

2. Identifying the leaking cylinder

3. Preparing the fuel Injector

4. Installing the repair sleeve( Remember to clean the injector bore thoroughly using brake clean and compressed air )

Note For Identifying the Leaking Head / Leaking Cylinder:

1. About the cracked cylinder head, we have found that in the vast majority of cases the problem is in the passenger side cylinder head.

2. To find out which injector bore is leaking on the affected cylinder head, experience has taught us that the two center cylinders are the most commonly affected. The more rearward of the center cylinders is the most common location of the crack.

3. In cases of extremely small leaks that still cannot be located, plug the injector nozzle opening into the cylinder with a 3/16ths

Extended Repair Sleeve:

  • Apply a light layer of sleeve retaining compound to the outside of the extended sleeve. The yellow painted areas in the image above indicate where retaining compound should be applied (this includes the bottom surface of the sleeve where the injector tip passes through into the cylinder)
  • And the hole in the side of the sleeve MUST be aligned with the fuel feed passage in the cylinder head

APPLICATION:

When diesel fuel in the cooling system caused by a crack in one of the cylinder heads, the cylinder heads need to be removed from the vehicle in order to replace the sleeves, this injector sleeve remover / installer tool set makes this repair a relatively easy job and allows replacement of the injector sleeves / cups without removing the heads from the vehicle

HOW TO USE:

  1. Use the Tap to make threads inside the injector cup
  2. Pull out the injector cup through Puller
  3. Install the new sleeve/cups with the help of Sleeve Installer

NOTE:

The tap is separate from the puller portion of the tool, you may purchase an inexpensive tap at the local hardware store. By installing this 6.0 Powerstroke injector cup tool, you'll also need an o-ring( provided by head repair kit )to retain the injector sleeve to the installer
